This year's Schmiede theme, Faust, paired with the raised-fist symbol, evokes images of force, conflict, and resistance. While powerful, these associations often lean toward aggression and destruction.

The project reimagines this gesture through a series of 3D-printed brass-knuckle stamps. Instead of bruises, the fist now leaves behind imprints of affirmative and complimentary words—messages of care, encouragement, and connection. By transforming an object of violence into a tool for positive expression, the work reframes the fist as a symbol not only of strength, but also of empathy and impact.

Willem Rabe, who supported with the initial 3D prints, created a brass knuckle generator for this project.
